1960 Crams Imperial Cold War terrestrial Globe with exceptional political display

$185.00
This exceptionally well-preserved piece by Replogle is bold in colors and offers an interesting wooden frame. In addition to a politically very intense time line, one can view aviation and merchant routes with nautical miles of distance. It was certainly the period when Pan American Airlines and TWA ruled the ever growing global travel. As mentioned before, the political display is stunning and with the well preserved bold colors one can clearly identify the drama of the Cold War Era: In Europe Bonn is identified to be the capitol of Germany as is Berlin. The division of East and West Germany is in process. In Africa French West Africa, French Equatorial Africa, Belgian Congo and other African colonies cease to exist, creating over 15 independent countries, including Niger, Chad, Somalia, Congo, Nigeria and Zaire (1960). In the Middle East one can view the short-lived United Arab Republic, a short-lived venture between Egypt and Syria (1958-61). Indeed a fascinating piece of History! Description: The paste board orb is mounted into a full meridian made of metal and finished in a matte gold. The meridian is framed by a solid wooden base. Diameter of the orb is 12 inches with a total height of about 15 inches. Colors are bold, well preserved. Some minor scuffing and scuffing throughout. This artifact will be well packed and shipped domestic for $18.00. World wide shipping is $64.00. $185 — Item #: 813CRAMIMP60
