Fab Eames Modern celestial and terrestrial Globe pair c 1973 Cold War Era

$165.00
Replogle single mount terrestrial and celestial globe pair c 1973 This particular pair with a classic Eames “faux teak - wood-grain” base is a classic representation of the early 1970’s. The political borders on the terrestrial globe highlight the Cold War Era with showing a divided Germany as well as the USSR. The celestial orb in a beautiful bold blue and gold coloring identifies constellations, the Milky Way and much more. A fine compliment to the terrestrial version! Both spheres are hollow metal and lithographed. Half meridians without detail and finished in a matt gold. The base is heavy and made of wood, finished with a faux wood-grain laminate on top. Each globe has a diameter of 6”, total height is 8.75”. The length of the base is 12”; total length is about 15”. Overall in superb condition with the exception of a slight scratch mark and some yellowing to the terrestrial orb. The age of the globe has been identified by the political borders displayed: Sri Lanka also shown as Ceylon (change 1972). $165 — Item #: 1012CELTERREPL73 - SOLD
