Post WW2, Replogle ventured out into the children’s market by producing a few unique globes, such as the Surprise Globe that would flip open, the Quiz Globe, and the Airways Globe game, and the Wonder World globe offered here. With these unique and colorful pieces Replogle attempted to expand the company into the Toy market, dominated by J.Chein and Ohio Art. After only a few years, Replogle was forced to pull out as the market was too competitive. The 10 inch Globe itself is made of cardboard, mounted into a metal half meridian. The legend includes motifs of very “retro” looking planes and ships. Political borders are shown in a simplified matter. The base is made of dark navy metal and has an internal shelf that contains a book called "The World is Yours." This book features facts about globes, are position in space, and a ton of games, quizzes and activities. The original book is rarely included. Total height is 15 inches. Almost no wear to the orb. Details are crisp and vivid in color. Base has very minor scratch marks at the rear. Because they were made for kids, models in this pristine condition are next to impossible to find!
