German companies produced a number of brilliant tin globes for use as chocolate containers, pencil sharpeners or as parts of elaborate tin toys in the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. This globe was used as a chocolate tin and is among the harder to finds pieces of the era.

The age of the globe is a little hard to pinpoint as there are no countries or cities listed to help narrow the dates. All writing is in German and D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster) at the top of the globe. This trademark was used from 1891-1946 so even it does not help too much.

The orb is made of hollow spun tin with a lithographed map. The two hemispheres twist apart to reveal the candy. Diameter of the orb is about 1 inches.

The globe is in average condition with some rubbing but no spots of surface rust. Beautiful patina.
