An exquisite 1947 Cram’s Arts & Craft illuminated Glass Globe with important political History
An exquisite 1947 Cram’s Arts & Craft illuminated Glass Globe with important political History
$395.00
Another superb testament to the courage of Cram’s, exploring different design and color options for terrestrial globes!
This model has a beautiful, warm glow when illuminated as the oceans are in a golden yellow rather than the common blue-green. Note the unique mounting, consisting of a metal half meridian and wooden base. Both are finished in an antique white lacquer and provide an Arts & Craft feel to the mounting. Very unique indeed!
Politically the globe identifies the world shortly after WW2. East and West Pakistan have just been established (identified in red 1947) though Israel has not yet been created (1948).
The globe itself is in very good condition. The map is fully intact and has still its beautiful golden color. The mounting shows a little age as some of the lacquer has chipped.
The 12 inch diameter glass globe is covered with 12 individual, hand applied paper gores and mounted into a metal half meridian and wooden base. With a total height of 17 inches, this exquisite masterpiece will catch ones attention and provide a beautiful ambiance.
