For sale is a gorgeous illuminated Cram's Unrivaled Terrestrial Globe that sits atop two intricately sculpted figures of Atlas. This globe is a real eye-catcher, with Art Deco styling and a beautiful wooden base. The glass orb is coated in 12 hand-applied gores and is surrounded by a full meridian.
This item dates to 1938, a fascinating year in history which saw Europe teetering on the precipice of war. As one can observe, Germany had begun annexing neighboring countries, but Poland had yet to be invaded.
The quality is good apart from a small tear in the gores over Europe and some minor scratching in the Pacific Ocean. Neither noticeably detracts from the marked elegance of this globe. See photos for details.
