Mars, manufactured by Replogle Globes, is a fantastic early snapshot of our closest neighboring planet. As more and more energy and attention are given to visiting Mars in the coming years, the value and appeal of this artifact will continue to grow.

The Mars globe was the fourth in a series of globes that Replogle produced in this size. The others included a terrestrial (blue and tan versions available, a lunar (several styles including a bank and some with no dark side shown), and a celestial globe. The Mars globe is by far the hardest to find and this is the nicer of the two versions I have seen. The other style features a cheap plastic cradle.

The orb is made of hollow spun tin with a lithographed map. Diameter of the orb is about 6 inches with a total height (including base) of 9 inches. The orb is mounted in a half meridian and sits atop a simplified base. The globe is in good condition with minor scuffs and a bulge around part of the equator; colors are brilliant, details crisp. A great rare Mars globe for any space fanatic!
