The orb itself is made of pasteboard , covered with 12 individual, hand applied paper gores and two polar calottes. It is mounted into a polished and stamped aluminum half meridian and mounted onto the fabulous wave design base. The base consists of deep brown bakelite and metal. We have personally obtained this artifact from the original owner in Germany and imported it to the US. Considering the limited production and affordability, we doubt there is a second model available in the US.
