Cram’s unrivaled 12” Globe with black Oceans 1948 (Newly Established Israel Highlighted)
$199.00
Cram’s followed Weber Costello and Replogle by offering a globe model with black oceans. However, in order to differ, the lands on Cram’s models are colored in browns, greens and tans instead of more vivid colors as the competition used. New countries such as Israel and Pakistan are highlighted in a Metallic Silver. This provides more of a “calm” map. In addition, the mounting has a subtle silver matt finish instead of the brilliant chrome. Overall a fine more reserved looking globe.
The globe itself is made of pasteboard with a hollow orb; mounting consist of a metal half meridian and base. Note the retro font numbers on the meridian.
The globe is in good condition with yellowing to the base , light scuffs and abrasions to the center tape.
The age of the globe has been identified by the political borders displayed:French West Africa, Indochina, a unified Korea and a newly listed Israel in Metallic Silver dates this globe to exactly 1948 - Rare
