This Räths Physikalischer Erdglobus is an illuminated world globe that shows no political borders. The glass globe is incredibly detailed; it shows rivers, lakes, mountains, ocean currents and other physical features. The globe also shows most major cities. Räths is/was located in Leipzig which was formerly part of East Germany during the cold war.
The DDR and a unified Korea help to date the globe to between 1949-1953. The globe has a new plug and works in any US outlet. Very few blemishes on the paper gores. Excellent condition.
