German Children's Globe in Rare Black Colorway; Original Box
Made by Michael Seidel in Zirndorf, Germany during the late 1950's, this rare 6" globe is labeled entirely in English and comes with its original box.
This globe has a really great mid century look to it. The metal orb with deep black oceans is mounted on a bright red plastic free-form base and surrounded by a half meridian. Graphics on the orb include ships and airplanes in addition to the countries of the world. These do not come up very often and when they do, they are never in the black colorway.
The globe is in pristine condition and looks like it has not spent much time outside of its box. The box does show some wear to the flaps but is still in good condition overall. The graphics are fantastic and have text in both German and English.
